Descripción

In the periodic table of the elements, each row of the table is called the period. The number of levels an atom has determines the period to which it belongs. The first period has only two elements, the second and third periods have eight elements each and the fourth is eighteen.

The periodic table of the elements is the way proposed by Dmitri Mendeléyev in 1869 to arrange the chemical elements, which are ordered by their atomic number, their electron configuration and their chemical properties. Since its first appearance, this table has been increasing with the discovery of new chemical elements, some present in nature and others originated by man.
